Happy Birthday Tina and Thor!

Tina and Thor are 3 years old on Thursday. They usually like to celebrate with a bowl of tuna. So, that is what we will do. Can you beleive how small they used to be, well Thor anyway.

Here they are this past weekend, Thor still can't get used to the new camera flash.

Pictures from the weekend

Brent went on a long hike on the Red Jacket trail this past weekend early in the morning and got some great pictures, here are a few.

This picture he hiked to the top of a mountain he calls it, but I am thinking more of a hill.

Every time we have a picnic to go to I am on call and Brent always ends up having to make whatever we are bringing to the picnic, I think he did a great job for the picnic on Monday making this beautiful cake. He thinks so too since he took so many pictures of it:)

MS 150

http://main.nationalmssociety.org/site/TR/Bike/MNMBikeEvents?px=1888637&pg=personal&fr_id=7100

Brent is riding in the MS 150 bike ride June 6-8. The ride starts in Duluth and ends in Blaine. They bike 75 miles Saturday and 75 more on Sunday. This ride is for a great cause, to fight Multiple Sclerosis.

Brent needs to raise $300 in donations to help fight MS. If you would like to help out, above is a link to his donation page. He would greatly appreciate any help you can give.

Thank you!

34 Weeks Pregnant

Your pregnancy: 34 weeks
See the big picture

How your baby's growing:Your baby now weighs about 4 3/4 pounds (like your average cantaloupe) and is almost 18 inches long. Her fat layers — which will help regulate her body temperature once she's born — are filling her out, making her rounder. Her skin is also smoother than ever. Her central nervous system is maturing and her lungs are continuing to mature as well. If you've been nervous about preterm labor, you'll be happy to know that babies born between 34 and 37 weeks who have no other health problems generally do fine. They may need a short stay in the neonatal nursery and may have a few short-term health issues, but in the long run, they usually do as well as full-term babies.

How your life's changing:
By this week, fatigue has probably set in again, though maybe not with the same coma-like intensity of your first trimester. Your tiredness is perfectly understandable, given the physical strain you're under and the restless nights of frequent pee breaks and tossing and turning, while trying to get comfortable. Now's the time to slow down and save up your energy for labor day (and beyond). If you've been sitting or lying down for a long time, don't jump up too quickly. Blood can pool in your feet and legs, causing a temporary drop in your blood pressure when you get up that can make you feel dizzy.

If you notice itchy red bumps or welts on your belly and possibly your thighs and buttocks as well, you may have a condition called pruritic urticarial papules and plaques of pregnancy (PUPPP for short). Up to one percent of pregnant women develop PUPPP, which is harmless but can be quite uncomfortable. See your practitioner so she can make sure it's not a more serious problem, provide treatment to make you more comfortable, and refer you to a dermatologist if necessary. Also be sure to call her if you feel intense itchiness all over your body, even if you don't have a rash. It could signal a liver problem.

Things have been going pretty well for me besides being tired from lack of sleep, too many bathroom trips and my hips hurt a lot during the night, so I switch from one side to the other. Everyone has been telling me I am carrying so high, so of course that leads them to beleive we are having a girl. We had the Wood Memorial Day picnic today and everyone said how high I was carrying and how can I breathe.

Work was crazy this weekend and that definately wears on me. I am glad they decided to not put me on the June schedule at all, so I have one more night on call this week and then not again until after I return to work in the fall. You must wonder, how can she possibly be making removals yet while being 7 months pregnant. We have an intern right now at work and he needs much experience, so he is on call with me always and he takes care of the physical work for me. But I have to admit, waking up in the middle of the night and going out is hard. I think I will be happy to wake up in the night and not have to leave home. Feeding the baby in the night has to be better than embalming.

Only 6 weeks until my due date, ahhhhhhh.

Laundry

I washed all of the baby clothes that we have and put them all away. Babycenter.com suggests all kinds of tasks to get done and this was the one for this week.

Thor amongst all of the laundry. He kept hopping into the laundry basket, most likely because the clothes were so warm coming straight from the dryer.

Pineapple

The baby on average is around 4 lbs. now, so they compare that to a pineapple, whoa, that seems big to me, but I guess with how heavy my stomach feels, it makes sense.

I had my two week check-up yesterday and everything is good, everything is measuring right on schedule and the heart rate is in the 150's which is great. I am maintaining my weight with a total gain of 33 lbs. Don't ask me why I feel the need to share how much weight I have gained, I will never do it again. The doctor seemed to think that was good. At my next two week appt. we schedule our final ultrasound, one more chance to see our little baby before he/she is born. I am excited for a quick look.

I think I am starting to waddle a bit, ha. It's getting harder to see my feet while standing up. Brent and I have been walking lots still, so that is good, I am still able to get out and excercise. I get incredibly winded, the baby is taking over my lung space.

Another wonderful baby shower

I had another baby shower this weekend, thank you so much to Sue, Heidi, and Mindy, it was a wonderful day and everything was perfect! They did a such an awesome job hosting and preparing the best salad bar ever. Thank you everyone for being so generous, baby Wood is going to have so much fun and is going to love all of the great books we got. We are starting to read them already.

Overall the weekend went by too fast of course, Friday night we were at the Chanhassen with Doug, Bev, Curt and Christine for Married Alive to celebrate Doug and Bev's Anniversary, it was a great musical.

Brent raced in the Almonzo 100 bike race in Rochester, it was 100 miles of biking almost all on gravel, he started out a little too fast and soon realized it was going to be an awful day. He didn't drink anything or eat the first 30 miles and it caught up too him, the last 70 miles in Brent's words were "Pure Hell." He finished the race in 7 hours 31 minutes and did not feel to great the rest of the night. But, after the fact he thinks he will do it again next year, how soon you forget how sucky it was, kind of sounds like the childbirth experience.

Today we just ran errands all day. We picked up a sprinkler at Home Depot and are trying to fix our lawn, I think come June I might just hang out in the back yard under the sprinkler.

Mother's Day

My mother's day plant from baby and Brent. We planted it in the yard to remind me of my first mother's day.

This is a waterfall Brent took me to tonight, he discovered it on his bike ride.

This is by the falls.

7 Months Pregnant

Here I am ballooning like crazy, I don't think their is any more room for the baby to grow, seriously. I am running out of clothing options, ahhhhhh.

I posted a couple days ago that we caught Tina and Thor cuddling , which they never do, I guess they love each other once again, we keep finding them like this, so cute!

Thor hates being held, which is why we have no pictures of us holding him, but I made him pose with me, he hated it.

Only 9 weeks to go!

Your pregnancy: 31 weeks

See the big picture

How your baby's growing:
This week, your baby measures over 16 inches long. He weighs about 3.3 pounds (try carrying four navel oranges) and is heading into a growth spurt. He can turn his head from side to side, and his arms, legs, and body are beginning to plump out as needed fat accumulates underneath his skin. He's probably moving a lot, too, so you may have trouble sleeping because your baby's kicks and somersaults keep you up. Take comfort: All this moving is a sign that your baby is active and healthy.See what your baby looks like this week.Note: Every baby develops a little differently — even in the womb. Our information is designed to give you a general idea of your baby's development.

How your life's changing:
Have you noticed the muscles in your uterus tightening now and then? Many women feel these random contractions — called Braxton Hicks contractions — in the second half of pregnancy. Often lasting about 30 seconds, they're irregular, and at this point, they should be infrequent and painless. Frequent contractions, on the other hand — even those that don't hurt — may be a sign of preterm labor. Call your practitioner immediately if you have more than four contractions in an hour or any other signs of preterm labor: an increase in vaginal discharge or a change in the type of discharge (if it becomes watery, mucus-like, or bloody — even if it's pink or just tinged with blood); abdominal pain or menstrual-like cramping; an increase in pressure in the pelvic area; or low back pain, especially if you didn't have it before.

If you're having a boy, you and your partner will want to take some time to think about whether or not to have your baby circumcised. Find out the pros and cons, and what the procedure involves.

I had my doctor appt. yesterday and everything is good, the baby is head down, so that is a bonus, he said most likely it won't change now , but sometimes they do. I am now tipping the scales at............, like I am going to say, come on. I have gained a normal amount of weight lets say. Our doctor came and spoke to our childbirth class and we learned a lot about the delivery process, so it was very informative.

New Camera pics

I realized that Brent, Doug and Thor all have the same problem, they close their eyes with a flash, ha. These are some photos we took with the new camera, give us time, we just got it today!

New Camera

One thing we wanted before the baby was a new camera, one that could take a fast picture. We don't want to miss anything. We got a new Sony camera today at Best Buy. Brent has been doing his camera research and we found this camera to be on sale today, so we bought it up and now we have time to experiment with it before the baby. Now if I can just figure out how to download some pictures onto the computer you will see the great quality photos.

Baby Shower

The church women had a shower for me on Saturday, which was so nice. I had a great time and we played some fun games. They were all so kind, baby Wood is already so spoiled.

Best Friends

Not very often do we see Tina and Thor cuddling, but I caught them being incredibly cute.
