No baby yet

No, their is no baby yet, I thought maybe yesterday their would be, I had many cramps and pains, but nothing, here I am at work again for a new week.

This weekend was really nice, not too hot for one thing, which is always good for a pregnant woman. It all started Friday night when I got some new really comfortable flip flops for my ever swelling feet, they are awesome. I needed them, especially for Saturday to work at the volleyball tournament concession stand for Women of Today. I worked from 9-2 and then Brent and I went and met Heidi, Jason and Lucy and many other people at their new home in Mankato to help them move in. I tried to haul as many heavy things as I possibly could to jump start this labor, but no luck:) We are so happy to have them in Mankato, Lucy will be a great little friend for baby Wood. Heidi always said, she would live here again before our baby was born.

Sunday, Brent and I were supposed to go to Curt's triathlon, but I was nervous with all the cramps I was having, so we stayed closer to home. We went to brunch and stocked up on groceries and relaxed a bit. We went to an open house and fell in love with this house that we really didn't expect too, too bad we are not ready to move to a bigger house quite yet.

Well, I go to the doctor today, maybe he will tell me I have to stay, ha.

Waiting

My doctor appt. was on Monday and I am almost 3 cm dilated, woo hoo. I have had cramps and little pains here and there, but nothing yet. I am happy to be that far and not have much pain. I go again to the doctor on Monday. I thought going to the Thunder of Drums would rock little Baby Wood right out, but no such luck. However, the whole entire 3 hours of the show, the baby was dancing it up the whole time, it was awesome. I think we have a tuba player in the making:)

whoops

I accidentally ran over Brent's mountain bike tire in the garage on Monday, it got caught between my car and the garage wall, whoops.

North Mankato Triathlon

Brent and Curt participated in the North Mankato Triathlon this weekend, in which Curt won 1st place, way to go Curt. Brent did really well too, but he didn't think so. He thinks he needs to train harder now for the Heart of the Lakes Triathlon in July. We had a great time Sunday hanging out with Curt and Christine and Doug and Bev. We watched old videos and went for a walk on the Sakatah Trail. Monday night Curt and Christine came back down for the Thunder of Drums at MSU, it was a great night for it!

Brent after the finish.

Here is Lucy trying out Doug and Bev's new bike trailer, she loved it, so much that she fell asleep in it. They were so pumped to finally have someone who could try it out. Baby Wood will be a little small to ride in it this summer yet.

Here are a bunch of the swimmers right before the triathlon started. Brent is in the back with the black tri suit on with his hands on his hips.

Here comes Curt, first out of the water.

Brent coming out from the swim.

Finished Nursery

Here it is, the finished product, I love the colors and am so happy with how it all turned out. We still have a green shelf to hang up, but we now have everything we need to welcome baby Wood.

Even Thor is getting excited, he was just excited that the bed was made so he could take a nap. He slept one whole night in the crib to test it out, don't worry, when the baby is in there he will not be allowed in that room.

More pictures from the race

Here comes the peleton racing up Main St. Hill in Mankato to finish off the Mankato stage, it's a great spot to watch. Yes, I did walk up that hill 8 months pregnant, I would say that is equivalent to biking up it.

I liked this guy, he is covered in tattoos on his arms, legs and neck.

Check out that hill they have to climb, it's insane.

Here I am waiting for the women to come up the hill.

Nature Valley Grand Prix

Saturday The Nature Valley Grand Prix Professional bike race started and finished a stage of their race in Mankato. While they were out on the course in smaller towns around Mankato they had an amateur criterium race downtown that Brent participated in. He didn't do as well as he would have liked, but we were all proud of him. Here he is at the start of the race trying to get his shoe fixed, he couldn't get it clipped into his pedal, he got it just in the nick of time, while pissing off a lot of riders behind him. He is on the far right side.

Here they go, the start of the race, Brent is on the far side in the yellow and red jersey with the red helmet.

Here comes Brent, rounding the corner, it's scary to watch.

After the finish here are Brent and Doug.

8 Months Pregnant

Here I am, only 3 1/2 weeks until my due date, I know every time I post a picture I say how incredibly huge I am, but seriously, I am so glad I am in the last month, it's a bit uncomfortable now. I have some swelling going on, my ankles are enormous and when I told the doctor today at my appt. he said oh just wait, they will get bigger, especially with the heat. Great! I also found out at the doctor today that I am 2 cm dilated and 80% effaced for those who know what that means. I guess the doctor says its good because I am actually progressing, but I could stay this way for a while, so don't get too excited. He also says that our baby is a little bigger than average, so I guess I have my work cut out for me.

Hope everyone has a great weekend, we have a busy day tomorrow with Brent racing in a bike race in Mankato and then we are watching the professional racers come through town, it's always a good time. I will try and take some great pictures at the race.

MS-150 recap

The MS-150 was a success. Here is the group at the finish. Don't they look happy after biking 150 miles? They actually were really lucky and didn't get rained on the entire riding portion. Friday night it rained and Brent didn't sleep a wink. He said the tent was flapping and an annoying windmill in the distance made some squeaky noises. Then on Sat. after a few alcoholic beverages and little sleep the night before, Brent slept like a baby. The guys had a good time and got nice biker tans.

Brent says, "Thanks everyone who donated to this great cause, it was greatly appreciated."

Happy Birthday Adam!

Happy Birthday to my brother Adam, him and his wife April were here from Vancouver, WA this past weekend and we got to celebrate his birthday with them tonight. I had a great weekend hanging out with them. They are headed out tomorrow for the Black Hills. We see each other about once a year at the most.

One more look at Baby Wood

Here is one final look at Baby Wood before the birth. The baby was sucking it's thumb during this picture, it's incredibly cute and we both got really excited after seeing this picture. The ultrasound tech said the baby was really photogenic, ha. The baby measures at 36 weeks and weighs approximately 6 lbs give or take 15 ounces. The tech said she could tell the sex but we still didn't find out, we made it this long we didn't want to give in this last month.

35 week check up

I had my 35 week check up today. All is good with Baby Wood. Heart rate is in the 140's, so it's a boy again. haha. everyone always says if the heart rate is high it's a girl and it's been high for a while, but not anymore. We have our last ultrasound on Thursday, I am really excited. I might have one final picture of the baby to post before we actually get to meet him/her. I can't wait to get a peak, but not too much of a peak, we still want the sex to be a surprise. It's been 16 weeks since the last ultrasound. This one is to check the position of the baby and the size.

I have been a little overwhelmed the last couple days just thinking it's only 5 weeks until my due date. I feel really like we have things under control, but yet I want to get everything done just in case this baby wants to come a little early. So, Brent got the pack/n/play in our bedroom all set up tonight and now the baby has a place to sleep for sure. We want to go to Target next week and get some last minute things off of our registry that we think we need before baby. Then I think we will be set. Heidi reassured me that all a baby really needs is some diapers, clothes , and blankets and they wouldn't know the difference if anything else was ready. They will sleep just about anywhere. So, I need to stop worrying.

Buffalo Triathlon

On Sunday we went to Curt's Triathlon in Buffalo, I am sure if you read his or Christine's blog you know the outcome of this. Everything started out great until he did the run and he realized he didn't have nearly enough electrolytes in him (not good). He got really dehydrated and rolled to a 3rd place finish and scared all of us. I seriously mean, he rolled to a finish. One of the craziest finishes I have ever seen. I have to say it was not easy to watch someone who was that dehydrated, we were all pretty scared. After not being able to get enough fluids, the medical team decided to give him an i.v. and transport him by ambulance to the Buffalo Hospital where we all met up with him and it was a totally different scene. Curt said the i.v. started working instantly. He was ready for some food, so we went to Perkins and relaxed the rest of the day. We are so glad you are okay Curt, we were all glad we were there with him on Sunday. Here are some of the pictures we captured earlier before all of the caos.

Curt coming out of the water first.
Taking off on the bike portion.
Heading out on the run when everything seemed to be okay.
