One more week :(

I only have one more week of time off with Audrey before going back to work. I feel really confident that her daycare is going to be wonderful and she is going to learn a lot there. I'm not exactly sure how I am going to feel when we take her to daycare for the first time, but from what I hear from everyone else and what they were like I am going to be a mess. I got my schedule from work for September and my first day back I am on call, so I am jumping right back into it. I have not been on call since May and have not embalmed since April, whoa. I am sure I will just pick up where I left off, but it's going to be different. I do miss my job, so atleast I know I am doing what I love.

We're Back, Lutsen Recap

What can we say, Lutsen was just what we all needed. It was incredibly relaxing and tons of fun. Audrey was wonderful on her first ever vacation. The 5 1/2 hour ride in the car went really well. We stopped a couple times for Audrey to eat and stretch out a bit. We did so many things up north. It was nice to be around family and have so much help with Audrey. She loves her grandparents and her aunt Christine and Uncle Curt. Although Brent got hurt on the alpine slide, it did not stop us from having fun, we went mountain biking, hiking, swimming, and of course to Sven and Ole's for pizza. Many firsts for Audrey, she even started making tons of noise discovering her voice and discovering the fact that she can grab onto things, she liked to hike up her pants all the time. The weather was cool, so she was sporting some cute pants and hoodies.

Update on Brent

Okay, I won't leave you hanging anymore, we thought Brent was probably trying to go a bit too fast to catch Doug on the alpine slide, but he says he was just going at his regular speed, which I must say is fast. Well, his sled starting swaying from side to side and he fell out of the sled and his arms were dragging on the track, so he basically burned the skin off of his arms and one of the wounds is pretty raunchy looking. Good thing it was the last time down for the day, but too bad right before the last run he took off his sweatshirt to expose his arms:(

I will post pics when we get home, just so you can all check out the nastiness. I think the only good thing from this was that he took it easy mountain biking today and we didn't have to worry about him crashing and hurting himself again.

We are getting some great pics here at Lutsen, because after all, their is a Wood family photo contest up here, the categories are humor, nature, action, and Audrey of course. We have to submit 2 photos in each category to the panel of judges which consist of Brents aunt and uncles. Okay, I best get cracking, only one more day and I am afraid I don't have all the categories filled yet.

Happy Anniversary My Love

It's our 6th Anniversary today and we are enjoying our time with family up at Lutsen. I am so in love with Brent more and more and am loving seeing him being a dad, who would have thought after 6 years we would be a lovely family of 3.

On another note, their might be some extra skin on the alpine slide from Brent's arms, stay tuned!

The big 13

Yep, that is right, Audrey weighs 13 lbs 4 ounces already, wowsers, she is only 6 weeks old, that seems insane to me. We visited her daycare today and she is going to have tons of fun, she met all of her friends that she is going to be hanging out with every day. She slept the entire visit, so really she has no idea what is going to happen in two weeks, that's right, two weeks and I am heading back to work, uggghhhhh. For now we are going to enjoy our trip to Lutsen tomorrow with Brent's family, it's just what I need before going back to work. It's what we all need, a little vacation.

Nature Hike

We tried out our front pack today and went on a hike through Rasmussen Woods. Audrey was nice and content the whole time. We had to try it out before our big Lutsen trip this next weekend, we will be doing some hiking I am sure. Besides Brent getting really sweaty, it was a success.

We celebrated Grandpa Doug's birthday tonight with a tasty Coldstone birthday cake, yummers:)

A day with friends

Mindy and Natalie came and visited us today, it was so much fun. We went to lunch and shopped a little at Target. Audrey had a great day ended with a walk to the Dairy Queen, we were celebrating her one month birthday. Dad said he would have shared his ice cream with her if only she could stay awake.



Natalie loved Audrey and hated to leave her, she kept bringing her toys all day just hoping she would want to play with her. Soon enough she will be cruising around just like Natalie.

Barbecue Blowout

Well, the picture explains it all, Audrey had a serious blowout at the National Night Out block party. She was sitting on the neighbor girls lap, I felt so bad. She did not seem to mind too much. We had to make our exit out of there and leave the neighbor with a bit of a stain on her pants. Audrey felt great after that:)


Here she is all cleaned up, bath time is not her favorite as you can tell, but she needed one for sure last night.

Pig Roast

We took no pictures this past weekend, can you beleive it. We even made Audrey a cute homemade onesie for the 2008 Asleson family pig roast, no pictures of her in it, it was totally cute! She did really well at the pig roast, but got very upset at the end. I think she had enough of being passed around to so many people. So the ride home was a little rough.

Last night my mom and I took Audrey to see my grandma in Wells, Audrey did really well. My grandma wanted to take her around to all these ladies rooms at the Assisted Living and show her off, it was cute. Then we went out for supper and hit the road. Audrey had enough of being in her car seat by then. I am wondering about our ride to Lutsen in a few weeks, a 5 hour drive, I hope she does well in the car for that long.

Tonight is the neighborhood picnic, so should be fun, Audrey will probably have more fun next year with the fire trucks and police cars, not so much this year.

Back to the Gym

I got the energy to go back to the gym on Wednesday, it felt great to work out again. I was incredibly sore the next day. I know I won't be working out like I used to, but whenever I get the chance I will head to the gym. Once Audrey is older she can go play at the children's center while I work out.
