Nice Classroom Uncle Curt

Brent took Audrey out to Williams Nature Center this weekend and showed her Curt's outdoor classroom he built for his Eagle Scout project. She loved it, can't you tell.

She seems to love turning on her side when she is sleeping now.

We enjoyed supper on Saturday night with Mindy, Jon, Natalie and Jon's brother Brian and his wife Kate and Mindy's cousin Sarah at BW3. It was fun to see everyone. Today we went on the Mankato Area Tour of Homes. It was fun, gives us many ideas of what we would love to have and would dream of having some day, how do some people afford these homes is what we want to know.

Sleep, sleep, sleep

Audrey slept through the night for the first time, no waking up to eat! It was wonderful, especially since I was up during the night working, so I got as much sleep as possible, she must have known, what a girl.

We have stopped swaddling her at night, so she is free to wear all the fun pajamas she has. We used to put her in a sleep sack that came with a swaddling wrap. I loved it until she could squirm so much that we woke up and it was around her neck, she was happy as could be, but I knew it was time to say goodbye to the swaddle. She looks so darn cute in these footy pj's.

Audrey's eyes are finally turning color, they are brown, finally a trait that mom has! Everyone says how much she looks like Brent which I love, but hey, she got my brown eyes.

I love my little lady

Today was a hard day at work, I worked a funeral for a 5 month old baby girl who died from SIDS. It has always been hard to work with families of young children and babies and be the strong one guiding the family, but today it was totally different for me. I looked through totally different eyes, a mothers eyes. I have to admit, it was not easy for me. It shows how incredibly precious life is and how much that little girl impacted so many lives in such a short time. Us funeral directors always say that if every day at work was like this, none of us would do what we do. With my job though, I have to be able to leave work and honestly leave work behind me for the day.

We enjoyed supper on Lake Washington tonight at Westwood with Heidi, Jason, and Lucy, it was a perfect fall night out on the deck eating fish. Thanks for inviting us guys, awesome idea!

All sorts of fun!

We had a nice relaxing weekend. Yesterday we attended a benefit for Brent's coworkers son who has leukemia. They were having a softball tournament and grill out to raise money for his treatements. He is only 4 years old and has had leukemia for 3 of those years. He is almost through with his treatments and in remission. Then we went to the bowling alley and Audrey and I watched Brent practice. I don't know if I mentioned, but he joined a bowling league with one of my old coworkers and he needs practice. He is getting into it though, he bought the ball and shoes already.

Today was nice, Brent and I both got some work outs in, Brent went for a run and then I went to the gym after he got back. We both want to come up with some sort of schedule we can both work out, it's much tougher getting work outs in now, but we are trying. Lucy and Heidi stopped by this afternoon and it was great to see them. Lucy was racing towards Thor freaking him out. He is probably getting an idea of what is to come with Audrey.

Back to work tomorrow.

Audrey was so happy to see Lucy again, it's been too long.

I think Thor enjoys the toys almost more than Audrey does.

Audrey's latest trick.

2 months old

Audrey had her two month check up today, she did great, smiling and cooing. Then came the shots, I have never heard her scream that loud yet. It was awful and then they were done and she was fine. She was a real trooper, but now she has a fever and so we gave her some tylenol and she is resting in her chair. Poor little girl, hope she feels better soon.

I bet you all want to know the stats though, she is gaining weight just fine in case you couldn't tell. She now weighs 14 lbs 9 ounces and is in the 100th percentile for weight, ha, she is as big as they get I guess you can say. She is 24 inches long, which is the 97th percentile for height. The doctor said she looked absolutely perfect and that we were doing a great job as parents. He asked us if we braved it and took her out on a walk yet, haha, he doesn't know us too well I guess, we took her on a walk the day she came home and we have been on vacation, silly doctor.
I guess it's better to have her healthy and gaining weight than to be struggling to gain.

I cannot beleive she is 2 months old already. She has had a great first week at daycare. She loves it, every day she does something that they report to us. The first day she reached for the big bird on the mobile then she looked at herself in the mirror the next day. She loves the swing they have , which is great because she doesn't enjoy our swing at home. Every day I have called they say that Audrey is having such a great day. I thought for sure when I called today after her appt. they would say she was crabby for the first time, but no, they said she was playing. She is so good. We are so lucky to have such a great baby girl.

Trip down memory lane

We had a great weekend, we started out by going out on a date Friday night to Red Lobster, my mom watched Audrey and had a great time. Sat. my mom and I went to many garage sales and found some cute winter clothes for Audrey. We even met a lady who's daughter Gabrielle will be in Audrey's room at daycare:) I realized the weather was perfect so Brent and I decided to take Audrey to the Como Zoo for the afternoon. It was great, we took a drive down Snelling Ave. in St. Paul past the funeral home I used to live in while going to school at the U of M. Oh how i hated that apt. Then we made our way to Roseville after the zoo and drove past my next funeral home apt. and went to Don Pablos for supper. It was great to check out the neighborhoods I used to live in and see what has changed in 6 years and spend time with our little family.

I also went on my first run on Thursday night, it was great, much better than I thought it would be since I have not been on a run since last October.

Wish me luck on my first day back to work tomorrow!

The baby orangatan (not sure at all how to spell that) at the zoo, so cute.

Check out the ginormous lily pads at the zoo.

Audrey's cute owl shirt!

Good Times

My great friend Dacia visited us today. Dacia and I grew up together in Estherville, IA and have remained friends ever since. We had a lot of fun and were so glad you came to visit. Audrey loved her and gave her lots of smiles:)

Look out Uncle Curt

Their is a new triathlete on the Gear West Team. She is definately showing promise. She will start out being a fan, we'll see what happens. Thanks for my sweet shirt Uncle Curt and Aunt Christine:)

Camping

Yesterday we went to Hope to visit my parents while they were camping with some other family. Mindy, Jon, and Natalie came and visited for the afternoon and then we went to a pork roast that night at the campground. Audrey enjoying her first camping experience, she slept most of the time really. We had a great time, except for the wind, we could have done without that.

My cousin Rob's daughter Morgan always wanted to hold Audrey, aren't they cute.

Natalie grilling up some chicken drumsticks.

Grandma Sonnek with her hands full.

Brent kicking some butt in bean bags. Okay, we won one game that day:(

Chillin inside, out of the wind.
