I'm an aunt!!!!!!

And of course Brent is an uncle and Audrey is a cousin:) Our sweet little nephew, Sebastian Christopher was born this morning. He is super cute, with chubby little cheeks and spikey black hair. I can see Audrey and him having tons of fun in the future. We are so happy for you Curt and Christine, you are going to be the coolest parents! I will post pictures when I get them on the computer.

It was such a nice relaxing weekend, I was on call this weekend, but for once we had no Sat. funerals and I hardly had to work at all, it was great to be slow so that I got the chance to meet my nephew.

We of course got to enjoy some of dad's pancakes this morning:)

18 Months

Audrey had her 18 month check up this week and she is of course still in the 99 percentile for height and weight, but now her head joins the 99th percentile too, her brains are expanding. Her head has always been in the 80th. Dr. Williams said he has no idea where she gets her height from:)

I can't beleive Audrey is 18 months old, I was just looking back at photos from our summer vacation in August and she looks like a baby then, she really is not a baby anymore. She is talking so much it's crazy, something new every day. When we eat breakfast she constantly looks in our bowl of cereal and says, "All gone", and repeats it over and over. She always says "go" when it's time to leave and says "wuv u" at bedtime. She has started saying water today and I totally did not understand, it takes a while to catch on to what she is saying, but once I figure it out it makes it easier for both of us.

Tantrums come and go, they usually don't last too long, but it doesn't take much to trigger one. Usually they happen when she is getting tired. Today I took her to the mall to play in the play area and she refused to leave her snacks in the stroller while playing, so we had to leave and that caused a bit of a scene, but I packed her up and off we went.

Brent and I always used to say, we can't wait until she can talk and laugh, I wonder what she would sound like. She has the cutest little voice and her laugh is so contagious. We love every minute we get to spend with this little lady. Tonight we put her to bed and she sat up in her crib and I said see you in the morning, she just sat there and laughed:)

No more shots until she is ready for kindergarten, except for the yearly flu shot.

Sliding in the buff!

Audrey loves sending her stuffed animals down the slide, actually they are all of Brent's old stuffed animals that we keep downstairs. Every time we head down for a bath we have to stop off at the slide to send the animals down. Here goes Fival!

I think Audrey's legs look super long in this picture.

Ouch, I can't beleive I was taking a pictures when this happened. This is what happens when you try being crazy and walking up the slide, it tipped over and she ended up hitting her head on the shelf. Not good:(

Homecoming Week!

Next week is Wacky Week at daycare. It reminds me so much of Homecoming week in high school. Here is her schedule for the week:

Monday: Inside out day
Tuesday: PJ day
Wednesday: Backward and crazy hair day
Thursday: Costume day
Friday: Favorite sports day

How fun will next week be, I am trying to think of a costume, it's like Halloween all over again. Crazy hair day is probably my favorite, I am already trying to think, I was thinking maybe a slicked back look. Expect lots of pics next week:)

Jump!

Audrey spent Sat. night hanging out with Grandpa Doug and Grandma Bev and learned to jump. She went to a birthday party with them and just started showing off for everyone by jumping, we'll have to catch it on video, it's too cute. She yells jump, jump every time she does it. We have no idea where she picked it up. Brent and I enjoyed a movie, we saw "The Book of Eli", it was weird, but really good. We both liked it.

Here is Thor waiting for the race car to come around the track. Brent got out his old race track and we thought Audrey might like to check it out, little did we know that it would be a huge hit for Tina and Thor.

We enjoyed a Sunday morning breakfast made by dad, he always makes special pancakes for Audrey, can't you tell, this one is a dog!
After a 20 minute nap today, Audrey and I joined Heidi and Lucy at the Y for some swimming. Audrey did pretty well tonight after a very short nap.

Book, Book, Book!

Lately Audrey says a word and repeats it a lot. She loves books once again, we went a while where she stopped reading her books. It is so much fun to hear her babble and read the books to herself. This is her favorite book, we read it almost every night. It's all about colors and animals.

It's a Potty!

It was a party at our house tonight, Audrey peed on the potty tonight! She went into the bathroom saying potty, potty. She always likes to sit on there and we usually just let her sit with her clothes on. Tonight I took her pants off so she would be ready for p.j.'s and she just sat there and sat there and then she would get up and sit back down. She didn't want to leave. So, I went and got her pajamas and came back and she got up and was grabbing the bowl out of the seat, Brent grabbed it to put it back and realized she had peed in it. Ha, we had no idea, so we just started cheering and she didn't really think anything of it. Here we go I guess, atleast she is interested in this, it will certainly help.

Is the weekend over yet?

I know, most people don't want the weekend to end, but I do. It's been one of those weekends, no wait, one of those weeks. Work has been crazy busy and three nights this week I didn't make it home from work before Audrey went to bed at 8. I am glad most weeks are not like this, I miss this girl when I only see her for breakfast. She loves the time with Brent, except he had to work this weekend too. She had a great time hanging out with my parents yesterday and for the first time in a long time she didn't get sad when I dropped her off. She actually said "bye" to me, it was super cute. Usually when I leave, even if Brent is home she hangs by the gate and cries, so it really makes it easy for me to leave when she says "bye".

We actually did get to enjoy a little time last night with Mindy, Jon, Natalie and Harvey and Mindy's mom, dad, and cousin Sara. They were in town and stayed in a hotel, so Audrey got to go swimming and we hung out afterwards for some yummy cake.

Audrey creating some amazing music.

Enjoying one of my awesome smoothies, after every sip she would say, "ahhhhhhhhh." I have been making tons of smoothies in the magic bullet lately and Audrey loves them. It's super easy and a pretty good, healthy snack. I use some fresh fruit or frozen, milk, vanilla yogurt, dry oatmeal, and a couple ice cubes. Yummy!

Ouch and more ouch!

Today was a rough day at school for Audrey, two accident reports. She fell off the toilet, whoopsie. She has just recently become interested in the potty. One day she came up to us and said "poop" and pointed to her diaper. She actually had not gone yet but did a few minutes later. So, dad took her shopping one weekend for a potty chair of her own. She likes to hang out and sit on it with her clothes on, which we read in the potty training book that that is okay to do. This week at school she actually went into the bathroom and wanted to sit on her own. Every day they have them go in and sit on the toilet and apparently today she fell off. I am not sure exactly how it happened, but she bumped her head.

Oh yeah, just when we thought the biter was gone, she got bit today on her back. It was fight over a toy. Audrey needs a little help in this area, we could use some advice.

Weekend wrap up

We had a very nice weekend enjoying some family time. Saturday I went to a baby shower for Christine which was really fun. Then Saturday evening Brent and I enjoyed a date night and saw the movie "Youth in Revolt", which was hilarious and then dinner after the movie.

Today Brent finished painting our work out room in the basement, which is finally ready to go, it's been a long time coming. While he was painting Audrey and I visited the mall and played in the play area and then we visited Grandma Julie. We had supper tonight at our house with Doug and Bev and then let Audrey entertain us afterwards for a while. She really loves her kitchen now with all of her new food she got for Christmas.

Chillin after her nap, eating some raisins.

Audrey likes to get right in your face now when she sees the camera.

I guess her pants are seriously baggy today, when we were playing at the mall today she kept sticking her hands down the back of her pants, ha. Good thing she usually has tighter pants on.

Check out the snow on our deck and the table, whoa. This is before Brent got it all scrapped off on Saturday.

Pajama Day

Today was pajama day at school, something funny about wearing shoes with pajamas:)

Good Morning Girls!

Sometimes we feel lucky to be able to cuddle with Audrey, she is not much of a cuddler. But we would appreciate it if it wasn't too early in the morning. Some mornings she wakes up around 5 crying and we go out and lay on the couch and she falls back asleep. It's just not as comfortable as sleeping in the bed. But, I have to say, I enjoy the little cuddle time that comes with it:)

This morning Tina decided to join us.

Are you nuts?

That seems to be the popular question asked to me about the polar plunge. I was meeting with a family at work and I was telling them about this event and the son told me after only knowing me for a couple days, "I always knew you had a screw loose." It made me laugh. Here are a couple pics Bev took.

I love this last picture, it looks like Doug is just standing on the water.

Polar Plunge

Today I enjoyed jumping into Lake Minnetonka to bring in 2010. I jumped with Doug and Nate and it was horribly cold. I can't imagine ever doing it again, but if you asked me this summer when it is 90 degrees I would probably say I would do it again.

Enjoy this video that Curt put together.
