Avon, MN Bike Race

We went to St. Cloud Friday night and Brent raced in Avon, MN on Saturday, he did really well and finished in 13th place. After the race we drove to Chaska and had dinner at Curt and Christine's place for Curt's 29th birthday. It was a great weekend:)

Here is Brent waiting patiently for the race to begin.

The whole pack before the race began.

Wow, he even gave the camera a little wave.

Multi-tasking

Wow, this toilet sure does come in handy on the deck.

Yeah, I know, we still have not gotten rid of this thing, we really need to do something about this, the neighbor is probably going crazy.

Finally

Tina and Thor are super excited, finally some cool weather so that we could open the windows. They love being at the back door with the screen door open, tons of bugs hang out by the back door. I am also pretty happy about the cooler weather. Monday's heat really got to me, we had a funeral in Good Thunder at 1:30 in the afteroon with no air conditioning at the church, it was pretty miserable. Me, all dressed up in a dark suit with no air conditioning, it was not good.

Saturday night sky

weekend

We had a fun filled weekend. Brent went up to Shoreview and participated in the Turtle Man Triathlon, he did the bike portion of a relay team. He had some problems getting lost on the course, but still came ahead with first place in the coed relay division. Way to go Brent:)

I went up to Rochester and went to a party for Natalie, our friends Mindy and Jon's baby girl. It was tons of fun. Here is a picture of me and Natalie.

Brent and I met up after our out of town adventures and we had some fun today and road our bikes with his parents to Elysian this morning for breakfast. It got off to a rocky start. I got a flat tire, and yes, it finally happened, I could not get my feet unclipped from my pedals and I tipped over on the bike. It was not too bad, except for the fact that I was in the middle of the road. ahhhh. Thank goodness, no cars were coming.

Black Dog Time Trial

Brent warming up before the Black Dog time trial on Wednesday. Brent, Doug, and Curt all particiapated. Then we enjoyed a trip to El Loro, the greatest mexican restaurant ever.

Doug going so fast, I almost missed him.

Bathroom on the deck?

We have not had a toilet all day today, so Brent headed out onto the deck, ha. We are in the process of getting a new toilet installed, so we figured , why not replace that old brown tile with black and white vinyl flooring, it was the easiest and least expensive. Brent may not say easiest, it has been a long day.

35W Bridge Collapse

Here is a picture of my friend Andrea's sister, Melissa. Her car is the red car in the background. She is reunited with her baby girl here, thank goodness her baby was not in the car with her from the looks of the photo. Melissa was incredibly lucky yesterday.

Colorado

This is what we were doing last August, I wish we could go back. We took a road trip to Colorado and when we got to our first destination, Brent said, " I could live here." I thought the same thing, but living away from family would be too hard for both of us. Also, you don't have to be licensed in the state of Colorado to be a funeral director, it shows. We just had a death in Colorado not long ago, not good. I would get paid squat. So, we'll stay in Minnesota and just go back sometime for another great vacation.
