2 Year Stats

Audrey had her two year check-up today and Dr. Williams said, she is still big, ha, but very proportionate. She is lucky to be in the 99 percentile in both height and weight. Audrey is not a fan of the doctor's office, I know most kids are not, but she is pretty unhappy the entire time while at the clinic. The minute we walked in she kept saying, "Go Home, Go Home", "Go to van." She absolutely hates getting weighed and getting her height checked. She is too tall now to get measured on the table so she has to stand on the floor against the wall to get measured, what a treat:) We didn't even have shots today and she was still so unhappy. It's like torture getting her ears and mouth checked. Dr. Williams asked her if she wanted a sticker and then asked her if she wanted another one and she kept saying "yes" in a quiet little voice and then after the second sticker she started signing "more" because she really didn't want to talk, poor thing. She scored 6 sweet stickers though.

We are absolutely loving the two year stage. So far we haven't hit the terrible two's, we had a bit of that earlier on, so now maybe we get a break. Audrey is so much fun with her insanely growing vocabulary. It's so easy to understand her now and the things she says just make us laugh. Her mind is going, going, going processing so much information. She knows what she wants and how to get it and knows when she is doing something wrong because she always looks back at us to see if we are going to stop her from doing something.

Just to let you all know, it was no fluke riding in the trailer yesterday, tonight we rode out to the Dam Store for supper and pie, it was a great bike ride and she loved it. She hopped right back in the trailer after supper and asked for her helmet. We were riding on the trail and I was behind her and she kept saying, "Mom", "Mom" , Birthday Song. She loves the Birthday Song from our children's cd in the car. So, there we were riding down the Red Jacket Trail singing the Birthday Song.

Awesome weekend!

We had a great weekend! We didn't have any plans all weekend and it sure filled up fast with things to do. Friday night we enjoyed supper on Lake Washington at Westwood Bar and Grill with Jason, Heidi, and Lucy. It's a great place to eat because the girls could play on the beach with all kinds of buckets and shovels while we waited for our supper. We then went for ice cream after supper.

Saturday Audrey and I went with my parents to Blue Earth to visit my grandparents in the nursing home. Audrey was super scared when we got there but soon discovored she loved rides in the wheel chair. We then had a great lunch at Pizza Hut. Saturday afternoon we headed to the Como Zoo at the last minute for a quick visit. Audrey was digging the giraffes, we were super bummed that the polar bears were nowhere to be found in their new and improved home.

Today was an amazing day, if any of you know how much trouble we have had getting Audrey to ride in the bike trailer you will understand how incredibly excited we were to get her to go for a ride today. We rode bikes together as a family all last summer and this summer she has been so afraid of the trailer it's been impossible to ride with her. It was my first ride this summer. We told Audrey we were riding down to Lucy's house and she just went outside hopped right in and asked for her helmet. It seemed so easy, althought it took us months to get to this point. We are hoping it's just as easy next time.

I love this picture of Audrey, she was checking out some big fish in the aquarium at the zoo.

She was being so wacky in the backseat with her blanket and then we looked back and found this.

Audrey watching her 12 minute princess video. She has never been one to watch tv shows, we can't seem to find anything that keeps her attention, until we bought her a dollhouse for her birthday and it came with a 12 minute video about princesses, she loves it and watches it several times in a row. Brent has it memorized, ha. We are thinking before vacation we need to find some longer videos for the long car rides.

Community Band

We went to Riverfront Park tonight and met Heidi and Lucy for some entertainment by the local community band. The girls loved it and ran around like crazy! I think here Audrey is explaining to Brent that she loves her sucker: "Daddy, I like it!" " I like it Daddy!" It was hilarious.

You can see that Abe Lincoln was at the concert and that is exactly why Heidi is carrying Lucy during the kiddy parade, Lucy said she didn't like him.

Slip'n'Slide

It was so hot out today so Grandpa and Grandma Wood brought over a slip'n'slide, Audrey wasn't sure about going down the slide, but she enjoyed playing in the pool at the end. We were so close to getting her to go, maybe next time.

Do I really need to explain this picture, ha.

Nice night for a picnic

We went to the park by the bridge on the Red Jacket Trail for a picnic tonight. It was actually a great night for a picnic. We hiked up all the stairs to the bridge and checked out the river. We all had a great time, it's not really a park with toys, but Audrey still had lots of fun just running around.

Birthday Party!

On Friday they celebrated Audrey's birthday at daycare and she got to wear a crown all day. She loved it and wanted to wear it all weekend long. She wore it out shopping, at meal time, and just playing. It really got her pumped up and helped her somewhat understand it was her birthday and we were having a party on Sunday.

Sunday we had friends and family over and Audrey was pretty overwhelmed. She had fun and opened all her presents, but didnt' really react to any of the gifts. The other girls , which both happen to be named Lucy, we much more excited about her gifts than her. When she opened the outdoor sprinkler everyone was excited about it and so she hauled it off into the kitchen to check out for herself, it was hilarious.

After an almost three hour nap Audrey woke up so crabby and just kept saying, "poop." I know gross eh, but she just was so unhappy and not herself. We felt so bad, we decided to skip the birthday gathering for Brent's aunt, they share birthdays. Finally Audrey just said in a super happy voice, "Mommy, I pooped." I guess that is all that was needed and she was super happy again. Whew. We decided to end the night with a trip to the park.

Happy 2nd Birthday Audrey!

Wow, it's hard to beleive we have a two year old, it's been crazy fast the past two years. It is just amazing to me how much Audrey has learned in the last two years. She is talking so much more these days, but yet she is still pretty shy with people she doesn't know and larger groups of people. She tends to pretty much try and copy everything we say. I remember back two years ago and not having a clue about how to take care of a baby and sometimes I think today, I have no clue how to take care of a toddler, haha. We have just learned to go with the flow and things are just fine. We absolutely are in love with our little girl, she is such a joy in our lives and we couldn't imagine it without her. Happy Birthday Audrey Jeanne!

Science Museum

On Monday Brent took Audrey to the Science Museum since I had to work. She enjoyed the computers a lot even though she isn't quite sure how to operate it. She had fun exploring and checking out new things.

Her favorite thing was this pink wristband she got to wear. She hated getting it off that night at bath time.

Perfect Holiday!

When we woke up this morning to the rain I thought for sure we would be spending our whole day inside, but it turned out to be just perfect for the parade in St. Peter. We enjoyed the parade with Heidi, Jason, Lucy and Heidi's parents, everyone had a blast. The girls got hopped up on sugar just in time to have lunch at Applebees. Audrey and Lucy were nuts, playing under the table, jumping up and down in the booth, screaming super loud, they were absolutely crazy. It was lots of fun! We enjoyed an evening at our friend Chris and Kay's house for a barbecue and fireworks. Audrey had lots of fun with their son Jack and stayed up past her bedtime. It was a wonderful 4th of July!

Does this photo not just scream 4th of July parade? We have no idea what this was all about.

Lucy and Audrey being introduced to NERDS! Yummy, sugar.

Audrey could not wait to bring this home and freeze it, so she just drank it:)

All Lucy wanted was a sucker. We got plenty.

Audrey learning the coolness of the sparklers.

Jack loved tickeling Audrey.

Hooray for the 4th of July!

Audrey was in the parade at daycare today. They cruise around the buildings and went past Brent's office where of course he was waiting with the camera. Audrey was digging her float. Behind her in the red shirt is her best pal Alexis.
