Mini Van
Oh yeah, we went out searching last night for our future vehicle, a mini van. Brent has yet to think it's cool to have a van, but I am all over the idea. I like the idea of convenience and space. Brent likes the idea of what looks cool and hip. He said he is willing to try and represent and make the mini van look cool, because he will be driving it:) Now the question is, what kind of mini van do we get? Their are a lot of mini vans out there, wow, we just have to find the right one now. Just wait until you see us pulling up in our new ride, don't everyone get jealous.

I did it!

We had a great Easter at Brent's aunt and uncles place. They live only a few blocks away from us. First we went to sunrise service at the church like we do every year, 6:30 A.M. and it was snowing, the first Easter I remember for a long time where it has snowed. It was actually really cool though being outside at sunrise by the fire and the snow falling. I ate tons of candy:)
I had my 25 week check up today and all is good with Baby Wood. We are so releived. Brent came with to this appointment becuase we went over the ultrasound we had almost a month ago, so for a month we have been curious to find out the results. All is well, the baby is growing like it should and all of the organs are right on track, the heart, lungs, kidneys all looked good and it's limbs are all growing nicely too. Whew.
Back to work tomorrow to show of my new hairdo.

What should I do?

I am contemplating a short hair style, what do you think? Could I pull this off? Brent thinks it's okay, but that I will be unhappy if I do it because when I get a new hairstyle I am never happy, hmmmmm. He is used to it. I am really digging this, I found it in parents magazine. I know, I have already started reading this new magazine at the gym. My friend Heidi is getting her hair chopped off today, maybe after I see her I will be inspired even more.

Hockey weekend
We had a great weekend, although I had to work some. We went to the Minnesota State University hockey playoff games Saturday and Sunday night, it was great. My boss has season tickets and usually splits them up amongst the employees, those of us who like hockey anyway. It was a great series against the Gophers, overtime every single night. But we just couldn't pull it off last night in double overtime, bummer.

Trent, Marcy and Cole visited on Saturday afternoon. It was great to see you again Cole, it had been a long time! He is growing like crazy. He was really into watching Trent and Brent play guitar hero.
Sunday my parents had us over for brunch to tell us all about their Caribbean Cruise they just got back from, they even picked up some little onesies for the baby.
24 weeks
Your pregnancy: 24 weeks
How your baby's growing:Your baby's growing steadily, gaining about a quarter of a pound since last week, when she was just over a pound. Since she's almost a foot long (picture an ear of corn), that makes a pretty lean figure, but her body is filling out proportionally and she'll soon put on more baby fat. Your baby's skin is thin, translucent, and wrinkled, her brain is growing rapidly, and her taste buds are developing. Her lungs are developing "branches" of the respiratory "tree" and cells that produce surfactant, a substance **that helps the air sacs inflate easily.Note: Every baby develops a little differently — even in the womb. Our information is designed to give you a general idea of your baby's development.
How your life's changing:The top of your uterus is now an inch or so above your belly button, which means it's about the size of a soccer ball. With the skin on your abdomen and breasts stretching, you may feel a little itchy now and then. If your skin is dry, keeping it well moisturized may help. Also, your eyes may be sensitive to light and feel gritty and dry. This is a perfectly normal pregnancy symptom known as dry-eye. To ease your discomfort, use an artificial tears solution to add moisture.
Most women will have a glucose screening test (also called a glucose challenge test or GCT) between 24 and 28 weeks. This test checks for gestational diabetes, a high-blood-sugar condition during pregnancy. Untreated, high blood sugar increases your risk for having a difficult vaginal delivery or needing a cesarean section because it causes your baby to grow overly fat, especially in his upper body. It also increases your baby's risk for complications like low blood sugar at birth. A positive result on your GCT test doesn't mean you have gestational diabetes, but it does mean that you should have the more involved glucose tolerance test (GTT) to find out. It's also a good idea to be aware of the signs of preterm labor. Contact your caregiver immediately if you notice an increase in vaginal discharge that is watery, mucus-like, or pink or blood-tinged; any vaginal bleeding or spotting; abdominal pain or menstrual-like cramping or more than four contractions in an hour; an increase in pelvic pressure; or low back pain that you haven't had before.
It's funny because this week it tells us to start making a list of things to get done before the baby arrives and I told Brent to get some paper and a pen and he said, "Do we actually have to write it down." So, we made a list:
1. Get a door for our bedroom to keep the cats out.
2. Buy a new vehicle to replace Brent's truck.
3. Pay off a few bills.
4. Get the nursery finished and the baby furniture bought.
5. Maybe look for a new camera.

We love you Lucy!
Fun filled shopping weekend

Our weekend in the cities was great, we stayed at a hotel in Bloomington, which we won't even go into the details, lets just say the whole weekend was great, but we had some issues at the hotel. We do not recommend buying a gift card at the Water Park of America hotel. I do however recommend the stuffed cream cheese french toast from IHOP, it was the bomb:)

2008 Heart of the Lakes Triathlon
It's training time for the 2008 Heart of the Lakes Triathlon which will be July 20 in Annandale. Brent is all signed up! He is getting out for some runs and we are going to hit up the pool at the Y for some training in the water. He has been riding a lot on his trainer to some videos at the Prescher house, so he is bound to be some tough competition this year. I am bummed I cannot do it this year, but I was so glad I was able to last year, I was in the best shape of my life and I am sure that is a bonus for me now. Who knows, if we are lucky and the timing is right maybe Baby Wood will be able to be cheering from the sidelines.
